Hey, I’m Philip Tomei, I work at the intersection of technology and social systems. 

I currently lead research at AOI where I lead teams on societal impacts and economics of Artifical Intelligence.  

I was also a fellow of Antikythera and Pax Machina, where I focused more on the governance and philosophy of technology. I write about things like the financialisation of risk.  

My background is in Cognitive Science and dynamical systems theory. I’ve run academic conferences, a record label, contemporary art exhibitions and written experimental fiction. I meditate and I talk about out on things like LARP and collective intelligence.  

I spend a lot of time speaking to machines and listening to humans.
